Somewhere in between Sara Bareilles and Olivia Dean, she blends soulful vocals and rich harmonies with emotionally charged storytelling, creating music that feels both timeless and deeply personal.Before she ever put pen to paper as a songwriter, Carina found her voice on the stage, immersed in the world of musical theatre growing up in New York City. She’s always been drawn to the way music could tell a story—not just through lyrics, but through melody, emotion, and performance, all of which now shape the way she writes and performs her own music.As she transitioned from the world of scripted stories to writing her own, Carina carried that theatrical influence with her and has been working on developing her sound ever since.Her 2023 Debut EP, Becoming Whole, marked a pivotal moment in her journey, encapsulating the five stages of grief in both musical and emotional form. This project marked the beginning of her deep exploration into the power of storytelling through music. It was an introduction to her ability to merge personal experience with universal themes in a way that felt both authentic and relatable. With Becoming Whole, Carina started to refine her distinctive approach to songwriting, and has been using it as her fuel for her projects to follow.Breaking into 2024 she continued to explore and refine her sound. Covering ground from heartfelt ballads to retro-infused bangers, Carina spent the year learning more about herself as an artist, one song at a time.Carina is currently bringing her vision to life through a collection of new music in the form of a double EP that captures the duality of human emotion. Whether it’s the raw vulnerability of heartbreak or the liberating feeling of self-acceptance, her upcoming songs dive deeper into the push and pull of caring too much and not caring at all— creating a sonic space where listeners can feel seen, understood, and inspired.At its core, Carina Marie’s music is about connection.
